Farewell Ceremony for Almuslim University Student Joining Exchange Program at Nagoya Gakuin University, Japan

Bireuen – Universitas Almuslim officially held a send-off ceremony for Siti Fadhilah, an International Relations student, who has been selected to participate in a student exchange program at Nagoya Gakuin University (NGU), Japan.

Siti has passed series of selection stages since January 2024, which included preparation in language, culture, and adapting to the academic system in Japan.

In his remarks, Dr. Marwan, M.Pd, Rector of Universitas Almuslim, advised the student to always maintain good behavior, stay disciplined in academic activities, and remain committed to worship. He emphasized the importance of upholding the good name of Universitas Almuslim as the leading private university in Aceh.

“Always remember to pray and value yourself. The success you achieve today is the result of your prayers and hard work,” he said.

Siti departed for Japan on September 8, 2025, via Kuala Namu International Airport, Medan, to continue her studies at NGU for two semesters.

The collaboration between Universitas Almuslim and Nagoya Gakuin University has been ongoing since 2014, marked by a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that supports student and faculty exchange programs. Each year, students from both universities have the opportunity to study and experience a different academic environment.

The send-off ceremony was attended by the Rector, Vice Rector III, Deans, the student’s parents, and other academic leaders of Universitas Almuslim. Through this program, Universitas Almuslim hopes to strengthen its role in international education and provide broader opportunities for its students to gain global experiences.
